JOB SUMMARY
The Education team at the Institute for Climate and Sustainable Growth is hiring for an intern that will play a key role in supporting student engagement and campus climate programming. The program intern reports to the Student Engagement Administrator. The internship offers exciting hands-on experience and the opportunity to gain new skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and supporting a wide variety of Institute student events including weekly lunch and learns, monthly career series, and speaker series by booking rooms, ordering catering, and taking video and/or photos.
- Support outreach and marketing and social media content for the Institute team for events, classes, and programs.
- Assist in logistics, vendor communication and event setup/teardown for Institute for Climate and Sustainable Growth programming and events.
- Act as a student liaison with RSO climate groups and plan the lecture series each quarter.
- Assist with other duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize in a changing environment and still meet deadlines.
- Dynamic self-starter who takes initiative, highly reliable.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal and follow-up skills.
- Proactive problem prevention and issue resolution leadership ability.
- Polished and professional when dealing with faculty, speakers, staff, VIPs, etc. Wearing appropriate office attire during events.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable representing the Institute at events; greet and welcome people and anticipate and respond to their needs in a courteous, warm, and friendly manner.
- Provide general office/administrative support. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Docs.
- Capacity to relate to a diverse team/faculty members.
Expectations
- Must be available to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Pay – $16.60/hr.
- Expectation is 12 hours/week.
- Internship duration: Monday, September 29 to Friday, May 15th
